QUOTE PACK FOR DRYLINING AND FITOUT CONTRACTORS
Drylining quote template for UK contractors
A good quote sets out what you'll do, what you won't, and what you're assuming about the site. The price is only one line of it.
Our Quote Pack gives you a two-page drylining quote template in Word, a filled-in example, and three documents for when the job changes after you've won it.
What a drylining quote should include
Your details and the client's, a quote number, the date, and the project and site address.
The scope. Partition types and heights, board specification, ceiling type (MF or suspended grid), wall lining method, and any fire or acoustic rating.
Exclusions. Anything you're not pricing, written down so nobody assumes it's in. Skim, scaffold and fire stopping by others are common ones.
Assumptions. The site conditions your price depends on, such as level floors, first fix finished before you board, and clear access.
The price, as line items or a lump sum, and whether it includes VAT.
How long the quote is valid for, and your payment terms.
Waste removal as its own line. Plasterboard has to be disposed of separately, so it's a real cost. Our plasterboard waste percentage guide covers how much board to allow.
When the job changes
Most arguments about money start after the quote is accepted, when extra work gets asked for on site. The quote can't cover that.
The other three documents in the pack do:
A site manager asks for extra work. You send a confirmation of verbal instruction the same day, so the request is in writing.
You price the change on a variation order and get it agreed before you start.
If it's paid on time and materials, you record the hours and materials on a daywork sheet and get it signed on the day.
What's in the Quote Pack
Quote template, two pages with 13 line-item rows
Variation order form
Daywork record sheet (site version)
Confirmation of verbal instruction (CVI)
A filled-in demo of each, plus an instruction sheet
The templates are Word files (.docx) and open in Word or Google Docs.
Add your logo and details once, save that as your master copy, then save a PDF for each quote you send.
£14.99, instant download.
Common questions
What do I need to open the templates?
Microsoft Word or Google Docs. They're standard Word files (.docx), so they open in either one. If you don't have Word, Google Docs is free with a Google account.
Does the template work out the totals?
No. You enter your own quantities, rates and totals.
Is it only for partitions?
No. The line items are free text, so you can use it for partitions, MF ceilings, suspended grid ceilings, wall lining and shaftwall.
We're building QFitout, drylining quoting software that works out materials and waste from your measurements and turns them into a quote.
